GENERAL OBJECTIVES

-Los estudiantes son capaces de comprender los puntos principales de textos claros y en lengua estándar si tratan sobre cuestiones que le son conocidas, ya sea en situaciones de trabajo, de estudio o de ocio.

Students are able to understand the main points of clear texts and in standard language if they deal with issues that are known to them, whether regarding work, study or leisure.

-Sabe desenvolverse en la mayor parte de las situaciones que pueden surgir durante un viaje por zonas donde se utiliza la lengua.

Students know how to handle most of the situations that may arise during a trip through areas where English is used.

-Es capaz de producir textos sencillos y coherentes sobre temas que le son familiares o en los que tiene un interés personal.

Students are capable producing simple and coherent texts on topics that are familiar to them or in which they have a personal interest.

THEME: STUDYING ABROAD

Descriptor:

Students describe and understand the requirements for applying to a university abroad. They also choose an academic program and a country they want to study in according to their affinities.



SUBTHEMES:

-Differencies and similarities of some educational systems in the world.

-Cultural aspects (habits, customs, gestures, ways of greeting and saying goodbye).

-Aspects of daily life of a student abroad (accommodation roommates, food, transportation, leisure).




Indicators:

-Students describe and understand information about educational system of a country specifying its main components.

-Students recognize the cultural aspects of a country and describe how the customs of the inhabitants of one country vary.

-Students recognize and use idiomatic expressions typical of college life.

-Students recommend an academic program specifying its advantages and disadvantages.
